Dr. James Anthony Jackson, Sr., a native of Mobile, Alabama is the second of four children born to Dr. Michael and First Lady Barbara Jackson. He accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of seven at Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church where his father Dr. Michael Jackson is the Senior Pastor.
He attended Bishop State Junior College for two years prior to transferring to the historic Tuskegee University. It was there that he received his calling to the ministry at the age 20. In 1997 he graduated from the institution, acquiring his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
Dr. Jackson went on to enroll in the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA., where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 2000. In December 2007 he received his Doctoral Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH. Dr. Jackson is the founder and Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Indianapolis, IN. which opened its doors to the Indianapolis community on March 7, 2004. Since conception, the Lord has allowed the church to experience phenomenal growth from 300 to over 4500 members. The church currently has four worship services in two locations and Dr. Jackson’s weekly television and radio broadcasts can be heard locally.
Dr. Jackson is uniquely gifted and an anointed vessel of God. A sought after preacher and teacher, he has been privileged to preach across the United States and abroad. He serves as the chaplain for the Indiana Pacers NBA team and has conducted chaplain services for the Indianapolis Colts and other NFL teams.
Out of all his accomplishments, Dr. Jackson remains humble to the fact that God graciously decided to use him as a humble servant. He is the devoted husband to First Lady Tara Jackson. They have two sons, James Anthony, II and Jonathan Eugene. Dr. Jackson enjoys reading, singing, watching sports and working out.
